Vonage Broadband

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

That’s right. Vonage will finally be expanding its product line with what will be known as Vonage Broadband. Vonage hopes to offer this new service to new and existing customers sometime around the end of this year.

What is happening is Vonage is teaming up with Covad. Vonage will offer DSL service through Covad’s nationwide network. This will benefit Covad in the aspect that people are familiar with the Vonage name. Many people have actually already expressed a desire for Vonage to offer a high speed internet service.

Vonage is constantly looking into acting upon their customer’s desires, and are now even looking into developing a wireless service.

Covad in the past has specialized in offering their services to businesses. This partnership with Vonage will enable them to expand their target audience since Vonage’s customer base is heavily residential. It will be a good move for both companies enabling them to mutually benefit each other. Vonage Broadband will offer services of up to 3Mbps and 6Mbps.

Pricing has not yet been revealed, but is promised to be released in the near future.

Vonage for Your Small Business

Monday, May 5th, 2008

There are many benefits that come from using a Vonage Small Business Plan as your small business’ phone service. The first of course is price. Having to make long distance calls everyday for your business’ needs can add up extremely fast. With Vonage, long distance doesn’t exist. Calls can be made anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico.

Vonage also offers very low international rates. Some countries even have free international rates! Recently, Vonage rolled out unlimited international calling plans so you don’t even have to worry about paying international rates.

Maybe one of the best reasons to use Vonage is that if you move, you can keep the same number. Even if you don’t stay local, you can still maintain the same number all of your clients already have and it will still be local to those to whom it was already local. It is also very easy to add extra lines. These are just a few reasons why Vonage’s Small Business Plans are the perfect solution to your business’ communication needs.

1st Quarter Earnings

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Vonage has announced that it’s first quarter’s numbers (ending March 31, 2008) will be released later this week. This Thursday (May 8, 2008) management will make their numbers public.

There will also be a webcast the same day at 10am (EST) in the which management will discuss the first quarter performance. With recent events that have taken place in the corporate side of the company, numbers are expected to be strong.

It is also likely that the recent refinancing of Vonage’s debts will be discussed. It was viewed as a large step forward for Vonage’s financial future.

Vonage Financing

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Vonage has already financed $215 million of the owed $253 million owed to other VoIP providers due to last year’s law suits. The $215 million already financed has been so through an unnamed third-party financing company.

This financing has triggered a decent rise in recent stock prices and has helped solidify Vonage financially. The new financing definitely steers Vonage clear of the threat of bankruptcy.

This also functions as a motivation for Vonage to be at the top of their game. Already improving in many areas such as products and customer service, Vonage will be constantly looking for ways to improve and attract new customers.

Vonage Coverage

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Vonage’s coverage area is very large. Larger than most other VoIP companies. Many people have voiced the fact that when looking for a VoIP provider, Vonage is the only one available where they live. Fortunately it’s also the most affordable.

They also offer a wider variety of phone numbers, and unlike other VoIP providers, offer to let you keep your old number. With numbers available in most area codes, you can have a local line almost anywhere in the US or Canada.

This also means that if you have to move, Vonage will most likely be available at your new house. This is another extremely important factor to consider when initially signing up with a VoIP provider. Wherever you go, Vonage will be there to help you save money.

Is it Possible to Survive With Just a Cell Phone?

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Many people have decided to ditch their land lines and survive solely on their cell phones. In a highly mobile world, it is often not worth it to pay the expensive fee for a land line. But is it really possible to survive with just a cell phone? That would depend on your general situation, but overall, I would say it’s not.

This is why. My cell phone plan costs about $55 a month. That’s for 450 minutes, but what happens if I go over those 450 minutes? I pay $.45 per extra minute. I’m sorry, sometimes I need to use the phone more than 15 minutes a day. And sometimes way more than 450 minutes a month.

The most feasible solution is a good VoIP service. Vonage offers unlimited calling for only $24.99 a month. Since an extra 60 mintues on my cell phone plan a month is more than $24.99, it is more than worth it to have a Vonage line. It’s a good idea for students, professionals, or especially parents who have kids that have a hard time understanding they can’t chat on their cell phone all they want (usually until 9pm at least).

No one likes to be governed by their cell phone plan and certainly everyone hates having to cut conversations short at the end of the month because they’re almost out of minutes. Now you can have unlimited minutes with Vonage.

Vonage Holdings

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Last years lawsuits played a heavy role in driving down the price of Vonage stock. Around October last year, the price of stock grounded out at around a dollar a share.

Fortunately after ending all of the pending lawsuits and making some smart financial moves, the company’s financial position has solidified and stock prices risen. Vonage stock is currently sitting at about 2 dollars a share, a 100% increase compared to last October.

With new features constantly rolling out, a upgraded customer service system, and an increasingly solidified financial situation, Vonage stock will most likely continue on an upward trend. Vonage has been making smart decisions all around.
