Connection Problems using Vonage?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I am wondering why I keep losing my internet connection from time to time using the Vonage system. What could be the source of the problem? How can I keep the connection without the problem to keep resetting and unplugging the Vonage adapter?

There are a lot of reasons and factors that affect the connection outage once you plug in the Vonage Adapter. But it is not always that only when using Vonage you’ll be having those connection problems. Some ISP’s or Internet Service Provider will tend to delegate the internet connection to some degree that it will be available to all users, especially those that need it most. It is not Vonage that keeps cutting your internet connection. Go check first with your ISP and then go to your Vonage account. If you are downloading some files like music and movies, better pause that first or stop them momentarily and check your connection. But it would be better that while you are using Vonage. The best thing with Vonage is that it allows you to reduce the amount of bandwidth it uses.

There are also other factors to be considered. Check everything first. Are you losing the total connection or just the Vonage connection? Maybe you have wireless issues. Are you using Wireless-G/N Router? Are you using cordless phones? – You can also check the equipment like if you have corded or cordless phones (1.9/2.4/5.8 GHz phones).

It will help you if you check first the service and the equipment configuration so can arrive in complete and detailed solutions in diagnosing the connection problems that you are experiencing.

That’s right. Vonage will finally be expanding its product line with what will be known as Vonage Broadband. Vonage hopes to offer this new service to new and existing customers sometime around the end of this year.

What is happening is Vonage is teaming up with Covad. Vonage will offer DSL service through Covad’s nationwide network. This will benefit Covad in the aspect that people are familiar with the Vonage name. Many people have actually already expressed a desire for Vonage to offer a high speed internet service.

Vonage is constantly looking into acting upon their customer’s desires, and are now even looking into developing a wireless service.

Covad in the past has specialized in offering their services to businesses. This partnership with Vonage will enable them to expand their target audience since Vonage’s customer base is heavily residential. It will be a good move for both companies enabling them to mutually benefit each other. Vonage Broadband will offer services of up to 3Mbps and 6Mbps.

Pricing has not yet been revealed, but is promised to be released in the near future.

Vonage Customer Service

Friday, April 25th, 2008

It’s a well known fact that VoIP companies have had a hard time fulfilling all customer service needs efficiently. With such large customer bases, it is hard to complete so many needs. With such a large amount of competition in the voice over internet protocol industry, customer service quality is an important factor to consider when searching for a new phone service.

Vonage knows this and company founder Jeffrey Citron is now putting its primary focus on improving their customer service. Since Vonage grew so fast, in the past it has been hard to keep customer service up to par, but now it is the number one priority for improvment.

This means that it will be considerably easier to contact a customer service representative when needed. Doubts can be resolved faster, and problems identified and solved. New software and operations are being developed to make sure the new systems will be feasible on every level.

Vonage Voicemail Saved Me!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

Vonage Voicemail has a cool feature that allows you to print up your voicemail messages. When I first heard this I thought it was a tad useless. It didn’t take me long to realize what a handy and powerful tool it really is.

In a hurry to an important meeting a few weeks ago, I stopped by my house for a moment. I listened to my voicemail while I ate a very fast lunch (yogurt and potato chips if that qualifies). The first message on the machine was a dear friend leaving complicated directions to a place where I needed to hurry to after my important meeting.

I was already running late and it would have taken a while to transcribe everything he had said. He spoke rather fast and I would have had to playback certain parts to get it all straight. Well, luckily I was able to just print it up while I finished my lunch without any extra effort or wasted time. I made it to the meeting on time, literally. Not a minute early, but ON time.

I wouldn’t have made it if I didn’t have Vonage to transcribe for me. Perhaps this sounds a little over dramatic, but I was very behind schedule and it was a very important meeting!

Vonage Fax

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

Having the ability to send a fax from home has required the purchase of expensive fax machines in the past. Though sending a fax is a simple task, it has been very costly.

Since it is important to be able to readily do this, Vonage has taken the time and effort to make faxing easier and cheaper. Not only have they made it cheaper, they have made it free! Like all Vonage features, using the new Vonage Fax is also available at no extra charge.

Using Vonage Fax, you can now send faxes from your home PC. It’s that simple. You can send PDF documents, Excel documents, Word documents etc. Vonage fax is another great reason to use Vonage over other VoIP providers. With such low monthly rates and so many free features being constantly developed, Vonage is still the best digital phone service provider.

Vonage Me!

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

Right now, Vonage is in the process of coming up with new brilliant ideas and developing them into new features. Vonage Me is another unique feature that helps distinguish it from other VoIP services.

Vonage Me is just one more advantage that VoIP has over regular phone service. To begin with, best of all, Vonage Me is – like all other Vonage features – free! At no extra charge, Vonage Me makes life simpler. Here’s how . . . .

Vonage Me allows you to give out your phone number, with out actually having to give it out! You can attach it to your e-mail signature, use it on a web page, or use it in a variety of other ways. The person who wishes to get in touch with you just has to enter their phone number, and then their phone will ring. When they pick it up, they will be automatically connected with your phone!

Vonage Me is a great feature that offers more privacy while at the same time making it easy for people to get in touch with you. It’s great for a number of other reasons. For example, again, people can get in touch with you without you having to disclose your phone number to them. It’s also handy for your friends that might need to get in touch with you but don’t have your number on hand.

V-Portal Router

Monday, January 21st, 2008

With the close of legal issues, Vonage is now moving ahead, able to focus more on product development and other important projects. One of the first products that has come out is the V-Portal router.

Until now, Vonage has used and sold routers from Motorola and Cisco. With the development of their own router, Vonage is now able to increase customer service and usability. Sold for only $9.99 (after rebates), the new V-Portal router is very affordable and convenient.

An interesting feature the V-Portal router is that, unlike other routers, it has a screen which displays problems that the router might me experiencing. Now instead of trying to decode and understand confusing lighting schemes, your router will just simply tell you what’s wrong when a problem presents itself.

The V-Portal is a new kind of router designed for easier use and higher compatibility and reliability.
