If you were a kid in the 80s, chances are, you were familiar with transformers. Between the cartoon television series and all the available toys, transformers were a hit. Who didn’t want a toy that could be a vehicle and robot? Now that you’re a grown up, do you still dream of having your own transformer? If so, you’re in luck.
A Turkish company called Letvision revealed a transforming robot made from a BMW 3 Series coupe. The prototype is called Letrons and is controlled with a remote. Just like fictional transformers, this model can drive and completely transform. It can also move its head and arms. With the help of 12 engineers, and 8 months of hard work, the prototype is finally functional.
Letrons can’t currently walk, but this capability may be added if additional funding becomes available. We don’t know how much these life sized transformers will cost, or when you can buy one, but Letrons has plans to make a full line of transformers with different body styles and colors.
